How often should brake fluid be changed?
Brake fluid is hygroscopic. It drinks water from the air. Old fluid boils under hard braking and the pedal sinks. It is on the major service for a reason. MOT does not always catch tired fluid.
The two year habit
If you cannot remember the last change, it is due. We can test boiling point. Dark fluid in the reservoir is a clue, not a lab result.
