Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This policy explains how strandmotors.uk uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read with our Privacy Policy. UK PECR rules require consent before non-essential cookies are set.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device. They can be essential for a site to work, or used for maps, analytics or advertising. We do not run advertising pixels on this website.

Cookies we use

Strictly necessary

  • strand-cookie-consent-v2. This stores whether you accepted optional cookies. Set only after you use the banner. Stored in local storage on your device.
  • Hosting and security cookies that our web host may set to deliver the page.

Booking tool

The instant quote and booking widget is provided by Compare My Garage (comparemygarage.com). It is there so you can price and book MOT, servicing or repairs. If that tool sets cookies, they are used to complete a quote or booking you requested. See their own privacy information for details of their processing.

Optional: Google Analytics

If you accept optional cookies we load Google Analytics (measurement ID G-00PBNMHKPZ). Google may set cookies such as _ga and _ga_* to count visits, pages viewed and approximate location. This helps us understand how the website is used. Analytics does not load if you choose essential cookies only.

Optional: Google Maps

Embedded Google Maps can set cookies from Google. These maps do not load until you accept optional cookies. You can still open our location in Google Maps in a new tab without accepting cookies on this site.

Fonts

We load Barlow and Bebas Neue from Google Fonts. Google may process your IP address when the font files are requested. If you prefer not to use third-party fonts, your browser still shows the site with a fallback typeface if those requests are blocked.

How to choose

On your first visit a banner asks you to accept optional cookies or continue with essential cookies only. To change your choice later, clear this site’s data in your browser and reload the page. You can also block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking all cookies may stop the booking tool from working.
