Full service vs interim service
If you do a decent annual mileage, the interim sits between full services so the oil does not go the full year neglected. If you only do 5,000 miles a year, a full service every 12 months is usually enough. The handbook still wins if the maker says otherwise.
Interim
Oil and filter, fluids, tyres, a visual brake check, lights and battery. Aimed at high-mileage Croydon drivers, taxis, and anyone on the M25 a lot.
Full
Everything in the interim plus air filter, plugs checked or replaced on petrol, measured brakes, steering and suspension, and a health report. That is the one most private cars need each year. Full service list.
