DPF problems and cleaning
Diesel cars that only do school runs rarely get hot enough to burn the soot in the filter. The DPF light comes on, then limp mode. Cutting the filter out is illegal and will fail the MOT. We diagnose first.
What we check
Soot load, pressure sensors, EGR, injectors and whether a forced regen is even safe. A blocked filter is sometimes a symptom of another fault.
Cleaning vs replacement
A professional clean can work if the core is not melted. A new DPF is expensive. We will not sell you one until the diagnosis says so.
