When does a car need a tracking (wheel alignment)?
Potholes and kerbs knock the alignment out. You then chew tyres. A pull on a straight, quiet road is the usual clue. We look at the tyres and the steering joints before anyone talks about an alignment machine.
Why it matters
A tyre worn on one edge can fail an MOT and will not last. Fixing tracking after you have already wrecked the tyre is shutting the door late. Catch it at service.
Not always tracking
A dragging brake, a damaged arm or mismatched tyres also pull the car. That is why we inspect first.
