MOT advisories explained
A pass with advisories means the car is legal. The tester has spotted wear that is not yet a fail. Ignore the lot and you often fail next year. We go through the list so you can decide.
Common advisories
Tyres close to the legal limit, brake pads getting thin, light corrosion, slight play in a joint, a chip in the windscreen outside the zone that fails. None of those stop you driving away.
What we recommend
If a tyre will be illegal in a few thousand miles, we say so. If a pad will last the year, we say that too. No pressure to fix everything the same day. Fails are a different matter.
